Ronald E. Handy graduated with honors from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Government and Politics in 1983. In 1986 he earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Texas School of Law at Austin. Upon his graduation, Mr. Handy worked in the private sector handling both criminal and civil matters. In 2003 Mr. Handy was appointed as an Assistant State’s Attorney with the Office of the State’s Attorney for Prince George’s County, Maryland. As an Assistant State’s Attorney, Mr. Handy handled the indictment and prosecution of major felony cases in Circuit Court for Prince Georges County, Maryland. Mr. Handy also was assigned to the automobile theft unit, which was created to stem the tide of automobile thefts in the County. Finally, Mr. Handy handled the prosecution of juvenile cases in both the District and Circuit Courts. Mr. Handy is admitted to practice in the State of Maryland, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the United States District Courts for the District of Columbia, and the District of Maryland.
